How can I win a German course?

1. Follow Us: Stay tuned to our Instagram and Facebook pages.

2. Daily Clues: Every day from June 17 until June 21, we’ll drop a new video revealing the location of a hidden voucher in one of the above cities.

3. Find the Voucher: Race to the spot, grab the voucher, and redeem it for an immersive German learning experience! The first person to find the voucher wins the course. On the backside of the voucher, you’ll find a code that must be submitted together with the course booking.

The participation in the online competition „Course Catch“ is based on the following conditions of participation:

§ 1 Organization of the competition

§ 2 Eligibility

Participants in the competition must be natural persons and 15 years or older at the time of entry. If the participant has limited legal capacity his participation requires the consent of his legal representative. The competition is not open to employees of the Humboldt-Institut.

§ 3 Procedure of the competition

The participation in the competition is possible from June 17-21, 2024, in selected cities.

To win a prize, the participant has to find the hidden voucher and submit the code written on the backside with the booking of a course.

The participation in the competition is free of charge.

§ 4 Prize

The following prizes can be won:

A one-week German course in Bad Schussenried, Lindenberg, Constance or Berlin including accommodation at the institute and transfer to and from on of the airport eligible for the Humboldt transfer service.

The redemption of this prize is subject to the following restrictions. The prize can only be redeemed:

a) in regular intensive courses of the Humboldt-Institut, i.e. one-to-one courses or special courses (e.g. school transition courses) are excluded from winnings.

b) The service description of the German course corresponds to the descriptions on the Humboldt-Institut website.

c) The course can be taken in the time frame from August 18, 2024, until June 8, 2025. A later starting date is not possible.

d) The prize is personal and cannot be transferred.

§ 5 End of the online competition

The Humboldt-Institut e.V. reserves its right to modify or cancel the competition at all times without giving advance notice and without any expressed reason.

§ 6 Legal process

The Humboldt-Institut’s decision is final, and no correspondence on any matter will be entered into.

§ 7 Liability

The Humboldt-Institut does not hold liability for loss or damages of any prize awarded.

The Humboldt-Institut accepts liability for direct personal injury by intent or gross negligence. The Humboldt-Institut does not hold liability for injuries or damages resulting from slight negligence or in case of non-fulfillment of obligations under contract resulting from force majeure.

§ 8 Applicable law

The laws of the Federal Republic of Germany apply.

§ 9 Privacy statement

By entering the competition participants agree that the Humboldt-Institut e.V. will collect, save and use personal data (e.g. name, email address and age) for the purpose of the competition. No personal data will be passed on to a third party. Four weeks after the end of the competition the personal data of the competition participants will be deleted. Participants ensure that the data (especially name, age, email address) they submit to register for the competition is correct. Participants agree that their full name is published on www.humboldt-institut.org, www.facebook.com/humboldt.institut and www.instagram.com/humboldtinstitutev in case of winning.

Participants have the right to claim information concerning the storage of their personal data. Information will be granted by the Humboldt-Institut e.V. (email: info@humboldt-institut.org). Participants can revoke their consent at any time in a written form. The revocation must be sent to: info@humboldt-institut.org.

If participants revoke their consent to save their personal data all collected and saved data will be deleted.

§ 10 Further regulations

Place of performance is the Humboldt-Institut’s address of record. No part of a prize is exchangeable for cash or any other prize. Prizes are not transferable to a third party. Prize winners have to bear possible expenses in connection with the redemption of a prize (e.g. travelling costs, personal expenses) themselves.

§ 11 Severability clause

Should individual terms of this agreement be ineffective or lose their effectiveness due to later circumstances or should a loophole emerge in this agreement, the legal effectiveness of the other provisions is not affected. The invalid contractual provision shall be replaced or the loophole filled by an appropriate provision which comes as close as possible to what the parties to the agreement would have wanted, had they considered the point.
